The new year brings a new lower price and possible home sale for Adrian Peterson. The running back had placed his mansion in The Woodlands, TX, on the market back in 2016, where it had languished for years. Now, after a price cut this month, the property has quickly gone into pending sale status.
The Texas native first purchased the Houston-area home in 2013 for a little over $5 million, when he was starring for the Minnesota Vikings. In 2016, Peterson placed the property on the market for $8.5 million, but found no takers. The gated estate on 9 wooded acres underwent several more price cuts, leading to a discounted ask of $5.3 million in 2017.
With no deal in sight, the price was chopped yet again to $4.7 million in the new year. If the sale goes through, the All-Pro will have let it go for less than he paid. But after three years on the market, we’ll assume Peterson is a motivated seller.

The luxury abode certainly has plenty to offer. Built in 2004, the European-style design is a “beautifully detailed home with every custom feature imaginable,” according to the listing description. The layout includes seven bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, plus five half-baths. It features a large chef’s kitchen, family room, a two-story library, a walk-in wine cellar, formal dining and living rooms, and a lower-level bar with game room and media room.
Along with a spacious master suite with two walk-in closets, the home comes with guest quarters with a separate entrance.
Outside, there are two outdoor kitchens, a pizza oven, and space for eating and lounging. The resort-style pool includes a swim-up bar and seating.
Peterson played college football at Oklahoma and was drafted in 2007 by the Minnesota Vikings. After 10 seasons with the Vikes, he bounced over to the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals before resuscitating his career in 2018 with the Washington Redskins. The 33-year-old holds the NFL record for rushing 296 yards in a single game, and was named MVP in 2012.
