UFC’s Anderson Silva Ready to Throw in the Towel on His Palos Verdes Home

Mixed martial artist and former UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva is attempting to kick up a sale of his contemporary home in Palos Verdes Estates, CA. He’s put it on the market for $4.9 million.

The Brazilian fighter paid $1.76 million for the house in Upper Lunada Bay Ocean View Estates in 2011. In 2015, he commissioned Joseph Spierer Architects to do a comprehensive renovation and remodel. The home now measures 7,100 square feet and has six bedrooms, six baths, and two half-baths—enough space to accommodate Silva, his wife, Dayane, and their three sons and two daughters.

The half-acre property features lush lawns, a basketball court, pool house, pavilion, and an elaborate gym that takes up almost an entire wing of the home. The home is equipped with solar panels to provide energy.

The 43-year-old champion is a true rags-to-riches story. He was born in poverty in Brazil, and studied tae kwan do, capoeira, and muay thai while working day jobs before becoming a UFC superstar. He had the longest title reign in UFC history, from 2006 through 2013. People who know, including UFC President Dana White and MMA commentator Joe Rogan, place Silva among the greatest mixed martial artists of all time.
