Back when NFL Hall of Famer LaDainian Tomlinson played for the New York Jets, from 2010 to 2011, he rented a gorgeous estate in the exclusive community of Pheasant Crossing in Basking Ridge, NJ.
The property the running back called home will change hands in the next few weeks, and a buyer might score a screaming deal on the place.
That’s because the six-bedroom, eight-bath mansion on 9.23 acres is going up for auction on Sept. 28 with no reserve.
“It will be sold regardless of the amount of the minimum bid,” says Trayor Lesnock, president of Platinum Luxury Auctions, which is orchestrating the sale.
So a mansion for under a million? It could happen—but it’s unlikely. The property was recently on the market for $2,475,000. The current owner, Kevin McMurtry, bought the home in 2007 for $3.37 million, according to the New York Post.

The home’s traditional spaces also have interesting twists—the large, bright kitchen has a butler’s pantry and two islands. Professional-grade appliances include a six-burner Wolf range with a wall-mounted pot filler, a Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer, and Bosch and Fisher & Paykel dishwashers.

The 39-year-old father of two starred in the recently released faith-based film “God Bless the Broken Road,” playing a pastor who helps a distressed mother and a disabled veteran. He can also be seen on TV as an analyst on the NFL Network.
