Here’s something to do flips over: The childhood home of Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman went on the market this week. The five-bedroom, six-bathroom estate in a Boston suburb is listed for $2,499,000. And the best part? It sits on Aly Raisman Way, named for the gold medalist.

The English-style manor, built in 1919, has three floors and features a grand foyer with custom moldings, a tennis/basketball court, and a luxurious master bathroom. It sits on more than 1.5 acres in Needham, MA.

“It’s got an amazing third floor with beautiful glass windows overlooking the trees,” says the listing agent, Gary Kaufman of Keller Williams Realty in Needham. There is an additional kitchen, family room, and two offices on the top floor of the home. Meanwhile, “the basement, where Aly’s original gym was, was untouched. The [previous owner] just painted the walls.”

Raisman, 23, lived in the home as a young child, Kaufman says. Her family sold the home several years ago to a local builder who restored and updated the residence.

The price tag is a little high for the affluent area, but not excessively so, says Kaufman. (There are eight homes in the town currently on the market for more than $2 million, he says.) It reflects the large size of the home—9,060 square feet—and of the property.

“The house was originally a summer home when it was built a hundred years ago,” he says. “The area used to be where the wealthy from Boston would come out in the summer.”

Raisman went on to win six medals in the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. She also spoke out against former USA Gymnastics physician Larry Nassar. In January, he was sentenced to 40 to 175 years in prison for sexually abusing female gymnasts.

Last year, her autobiography, “Fierce: How Competing for Myself Changed Everything,” was published.

“She’s a town hero,” Kaufman says. “We had two parades for her after both Olympics she went to. Thousands of people went to the parades.”
