Award-winning musician Moby wears a lot of hats: Outside of his pursuits in music, he runs a vegan restaurant, takes photos, writes essays, volunteers as an activist, and raises money for charity. He also flips homes.
In 2014, the 52-year-old musician netted $6 million flipping the “Wolf’s Lair,” a classic Hollywood castle built in the 1920s for real estate developer Milton Wolf. After that flip, Moby picked up two more houses in Los Angeles near Griffith Park and set about renovating them.
The first of those two homes is now on the market for $4.5 million. He had picked it up for $3.4 million in 2016.

The house is certainly competitively priced for the neighborhood, which is, or has been, home to celebrities such as Megan Fox, Kristen Bell, and Rooney Mara.
The 4,644-square-foot home has five bedrooms and seven bathrooms, and sits on a 9,694-square-foot lot. Tall hedges and a privacy gate are perfect for camera-shy celebrities. Behind the gates, the Tudor-inspired home has been carefully updated to retain much of its 1920s-era charm.
The front door has leaded-glass windows and opens to a traditional foyer. Off the entrance is a spacious living room with original groin vault ceiling. There’s an Old Hollywood fireplace and a leaded-glass door, which opens to the outside.

Moby opted for a clean, largely all-white look throughout the house. In the kitchen, there are simple cabinets, marble countertops and backsplash, and a chef’s island with gas range and stainless-steel appliances. There’s also a built-in breakfast noo, and french doors leading to an outdoor table.

The house has no shortage of built-ins: There’s a floor-to-ceiling bookcase in the library, and ample window seating in the bedrooms.

The formal dining room has an ornate fireplace, wainscoting, and more french doors. The listing photos show a custom-built, live-edge dining table with seating for eight.

The bedrooms look unusually large for a house of this era. The master bedroom has its own fireplace, and enough room for a sitting area.

Elsewhere, there’s a walk-in closet, and what looks like a yoga room in the finished attic. Outside, there’s a custom pool and spa.

There’s no word yet on whether Moby plans to list the second house he bought in the neighborhood.
Moby’s music career dates to the late 1980s, and really began to take off in the mid-1990s. He’s released 15 studio albums. His latest, “Everything Was Beautiful, and Nothing Hurt,” came out just this month.
