Now that “Flip or Flop” star Tarek El Moussa has finalized his divorce from Christina, it makes total sense that he’d buy a bachelor pad—and boy, did he find a home that fits the bill!
El Moussa’s new living quarters—a four-bedroom, 3.5-bath mansion in Costa Mesa, CA—cost him $2,280,000. That’s just a tad pricier than the $2 million family home he left to Christina in nearby Yorba Linda. However, the amenities and decor in this place are quite a departure from his old digs—and also very different from the many homes they flipped together on their hit show. (“Flip or Flop” is slated to return this summer; the marriage may be over, but the show must go on.)
But back to the new bachelor pad. It’s just … wow. Take a look at some of the listing pics below, and you can’t help thinking that they speak volumes about what he’s been through, how he’s reinventing his life with a vengeance, and what he truly values in real estate … and may have had to stifle in order to fall in line with his ex-wife’s tastes.

Curious to meet the new Tarek El Moussa? Take a tour of his new bachelor pad below—and learn how it differs from all the homes he’s flipped or lived in before.
It’s not a flip The new home appears to be move-in ready, rather than a flip in need of some TLC.realtor.com
“What I find most interesting is that he chose a home that needed no renovations,” says luxury real estate agent Jennifer Susanne Sommers. That’s right, this home was in mint condition and move-in ready—no walls to knock down or backsplashes to retile. It’s perfect just as it is.
How can this be, given that the man flips homes for a living? Even his former Yorba Linda home with Christina was a labor of love.
“His family home was a two-year renovation project,” Sommers points out.
We take this as a sign that Tarek is tired of taking his work home with him. Once his day is done, he wants to relax and have a good time (more on that next).
It’s made for parties—the adult kind The fire pit and pool are made for a good time.realtor.com
“This house is made for parties, from the open concept to the outdoor-indoor living to the amazing pool and fire pit,” says Drew Henry, a “Flip or Flop” fan and founder of Design Dudes. “To me, this house says, ‘I’m ready to live the bachelor life.’ This divorce has been hard on Tarek, filled with drama and also heavily connected to their shared business. Now that it’s final, you can tell he is ready to relax by his new pool and hang out with some friends.”
It’s manly One bedroom opens right up to the pool.realtor.com
“The new bachelor pad is way more masculine than Tarek and Christina’s shared Yorba Linda home,” adds Henry. “Christina had added a lot of glitz and glam finishes for a more feminine look.”
But now that El Moussa gets to call the design shots, you’ll find none of those frilly details here—just sleek lines, a whole lotta leather, and, oh look, a bedroom that opens right up to the pool (all the better to woo new lady friends with, of course).
It’s not that family-friendly This kid’s room is nice, but…realtor.com
Although Tarek and Christina share joint custody of their two kids—Taylor, 7, and Brayden, 2—you’d never guess that from his new digs. Sure, with four bedrooms the kids can have their own space, but aside from that, the house seems to cry out for some childproofing around that open fire pit and pool, and more family-friendly amenities such as a patch of grass for a swingset and little soccer.
“There is no play yard for his kids,” points out real estate agent Paige Elliott.
No, sir, this new home is all about El Moussa. His kids live there just part of the time.
It’s high-tech The garage has a charging station for vehicles.realtor.com
The home also boasts some smart home features, including an electric car-charging station in the oversize garage and surround sound inside and outside—all the better to keep that party music pumpin’.
“This is very different from most of the homes Tarek and Christina flipped, in that no flipper would upgrade a house to a smart home or add features like a car-charging station,” says Henry. “They are too expensive and specific in taste.”
But since this is El Moussa’s home rather than a flip, what he wants, he gets.
It’s accessible to fans, freeways, and more“It is interesting that Tarek chose a home in a neighborhood versus a gated community, considering his celebrity status,” observes California-licensed real estate agent Cara Ameer. “He was likely looking at convenience, as eastside Costa Mesa is super convenient to freeways, which is a must for a real estate warrior who needs to be able to check out new opportunities and monitor his current flip projects with ease. The fact that he’s not too far from the beach is also a huge plus. He got much more for his money here versus going to Newport Beach, for example, where the same-size home would be at least $1 million or more.”
In other words, El Moussa still has his eye out for bargains. As Elliott puts it, “This seems like a home he can live in and sell when he is ready to flip his lifestyle.”
