Housing and Urban Development secretary nominee Ben Carson has bought a 6,400-square-foot house in Vienna, VA, according to the Washingtonian.
Buyers can get more house for their money in Vienna, a Washington, DC, suburb that’s about 30 minutes (with no traffic) from downtown. Carson’s spacious home sits on 1.5 acres and includes five bedrooms and four full baths.
“It’s a beautiful home on a beautiful lot,” says listing agent Shirley Buford of Long and Foster.
The home is just a few miles from Wolf Trap National Park, where Carson and his wife, Candy, can spread out a picnic and listen to live music in summertime.

The retired neurosurgeon and his wife also own a $4.4 million mansion in a gated community in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and an estate in Maryland’s Baltimore County. They listed a $1.2 million house in West Palm Beach, FL, in December 2016. Less than two months later, they dropped the price to $1.1 million.
Carson, 65, bought the Vienna house in late January, just after the Senate Banking Committee confirmed his HUD nomination. His confirmation to the post is pending a vote by the full Senate.
