Actor Ben Affleck is selling his Georgia plantation for $8.9 million. The 87-acre property is on an island preserve and includes a Greek Revival mansion.
Affleck purchased the property for $7.1 million in 2003. According to Boston.com, the A-lister reportedly fell in love with Georgia after filming 1999’s “Forces of Nature” with Sandra Bullock in the Peach State.
The property is on Hampton Island, surrounded by the North Newport River, and accessible only with permission. Technically situated in Riceboro, GA, the home sits about 30 miles south of Savannah.
The 6,000-square-foot main residence has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It features 25-foot-tall Doric columns, and verandas along the front and back of the home offer gorgeous river views. Historically accurate features include plaster moldings, pine floors, and huge fireplaces.

According to the listing details from Engel & Volkers, “The proportions, materials and details are extraordinary … from the 15 foot ceilings … wide-planked, reclaimed, hardwood floors … to the kitchen cabinets designed to resemble those from the turn-of-the-century.”
The property also includes a cottage with a screened-in room and the “Oyster House,” a 10,000-square-foot home with five bedrooms, which include bunk beds made from salvaged ships.
Affleck is in the midst of a divorce from actress Jennifer Garner. He recently purchased a $19.25 million home in Los Angeles, just blocks from where Garner lives with their three children.
