A luxury getaway outside of Atlanta climbed its way to the top of the mountain on realtor.com® this week.
This week’s most popular listing is a 6,200-square-foot mansion “harmoniously situated” on Sawnee Mountain. The custom-built retreat sits 2,000 feet above sea level and is on the market for the first time. This $9.5 million rural retreat attracted oodles of clicks from folks dreaming of a mountaintop getaway that’s far (but not too far) from civilization.
The runner-up this week is a different type of getaway. The Hamptons home owned by power couple George Stephanopoulos and Ali Wentworth recently landed back on the market for a million less than the last time it was offered.
On the bargain side of things, you clicked on a Georgia home priced under $20,000 and an 810-square-foot property in San Francisco’s Visitation Valley going for the eye-popping price of $572,888 (which is practically free by exorbitant San Francisco standards).
For a full mix of bargains and beauties, scroll down for a look at this week’s most popular homes.
10. 847 E Powell Ave, Evansville, INPrice: $139,900
Why it’s here: It’s a house fueled by the fortunes of coffee! It was commissioned by Homer E. McMasters, who managed the Ohio Valley Coffee Company. The bargain price of the home, built in 1925 to resemble an English country manor, caused many caffeine-fueled clicks this week. The three-bedroom home features multiple fireplaces, a large kitchen, formal dining room with french doors, large front room, fenced backyard, and basement.

However, there’s a lot of work to do before it’s livable. It’s being sold as is, but it will go fast at this price.

7. 201 W Graham Ave, Lake Elsinore, CAPrice: $1,500,000
Why it’s here: Known as “The Chimes,” this historic landmark was built in 1887 as the Crescent Bath House. It once had an 85-foot-long hallway that led to 10 mineral baths; the space has since been converted into offices and living suites. The property could be transformed into a bed-and-breakfast, event venue, commercial space, or even a multifamily home.

4. 5335 Knorpp Rd, De Soto, MOPrice: $493,500
Why it’s here: The creep-o-meter is off the charts with these listing photos. What’s left of the farmhouse on this 141-acre spread looks haunted. But if the rolling meadows speak to you, and you’re willing to put in a new septic system, have the well inspected, and renovate the home, you could take this place from horror to heavenly. Don’t be afraid.
