“Grey’s Anatomy” actress Ellen Pompeo is selling her longtime home in Los Angeles, located just a few blocks away from the Hollywood Bowl.
Pompeo bought the house for $1.35 million back in 2005, about six months after the premiere of “Grey’s Anatomy.” She was in her mid-30s at the time, and had reluctantly auditioned for the role of Dr. Meredith Grey to help make ends meet, she said in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
She had no idea the show would go on to become a multibillion-dollar franchise, spanning 14 seasons and counting
Today, virtually everything in Pompeo’s life is different: She got married, had three kids, won a string of awards, and successfully negotiated a new, $20-million-per-year contract, making her Hollywood’s highest-paid actress in a prime-time drama.
And so, it’s time to move on from her charming two-bedroom, two-bath house in Los Angeles, which Pompeo recently listed for $2.8 million. Originally built in 1923, the Spanish-style bungalow packs a lot of amenities into its relatively diminutive 2,456 square feet.

In January, Pompeo and her husband, music producer Chris Ivery, listed their summer home in Sag Harbor, NY, for $3.8 million. Last month, they cut the home’s asking price to $3.5 million.
