Everyone’s favorite old-timey homes, Victorians pop up all over the nation in a variety of styles—and some of them really stand out. The iconic brightly “painted ladies” in San Francisco, for example, are perhaps the most famous examples in the U.S. Famous and expensive!
With a tighter budget in mind, we sought out a few Victorians that were listed below $300,000. And guess what? We found an array of appealing, even transporting, options.
There’s no one style that defines the period, but these European-influenced homes do have a handful of common traits, including wraparound porches, crown moldings, decorative fireplaces and staircase banisters, stained-glass windows, and pocket doors.
