Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan have listed their Connecticut estate for $4.25 million, says the Daily Mail. Fox, who has Parkinson’s disease, calls the property “the best therapy possible.”
The 72-acre compound in Sharon includes a five-bedroom home and separate guesthouse and fishing shack. There’s also a pond and pool.
The main house, which was built in 1997, features the wide open space that Fox has wanted since he was a child, the 55-year-old actor told Architectural Digest in 2000.
“I’d never seen anything like it,” Fox said of a British Columbia home he saw that consisted of a huge room surrounded by a second-floor gallery. “When I asked the lady who lived there why they’d built it that way, she said, ‘I wanted to stand in the middle of the room, call out my children’s names and have them be able to hear—and answer—me from any room in the house.’ Something about that struck me as a great idea. I never forgot it.”

Fox and Pollan, who married in 1988, have four children: Sam, 27, twins Schuyler and Aquinnah, 21; and Esme, 14.
Their rustic home, which sits next to a property owned by Pollan’s parents, also consists of a great room into which the office/library and family room flow. The bedrooms are upstairs, reachable by front and back staircases.
“It’s a fantasy, a place we go to on weekends where everything else falls away,” the actor told Architectural Digest.
Fox is best known for his starring role in the “Back to the Future” film franchise. He’s also become an activist raising awareness and research funds for Parkinson’s disease, a progressive disorder of the nervous system that Fox was diagnosed with at age 29.
